Review and Giveaway - Arsenic Soup for Lovers by Georgia Z. Post

Publisher: iUniverse, Inc.
Published: June 7, 2007
76 pages

I received this book from the author to review last month. This is Georgia Post's second book. Her first book is With Malic Toward Some. Here is her website which gives you a sample story or two.

As the cover states this is a book of "very very short stories for very very busy people". This is very true. Each story is 2-3 pages and relates some cynical aspect of being married or in a relationship. As with any humorous short story book, some will strike you as extremely funny and others not so much. You can't please everyone. I found it to be a great book to have in the car or to throw in your purse for moments when you have just a few minutes to read. My favorite stories are "Christmas Wish List" and "Sex and the Widow".

Since the author was kind enough to send me this copy, I'm going to pass it along to another reader.

Giveaway Rules:
  1. Leave a comment.
  2. Post about this giveaway on your blog for another entry.
  3. Open to US and Canadian addresses only.
  4. In your comment, you must leave an active blog link (blog should have your email address available) or email address; otherwise, I have no way of contacting the winner.

Deadline is Friday, November 14, 2008. I'll announce the winner on Saturday, November 15th.

This looks like a good book for the busy Christmas season when one doesn't have time for a full novel

Looks manageable! Ha. I think its a tremendous talent to be able to render a story in 2-3 pages. I'd love to read this collection.
