Yes, I'm hosting my first group read with help from Vasilly and Linda. Remember this is my first readalong so hopefully it runs smoothly. It will be a work in progress. Please feel free to tell me what you like and don't like as well as changes and suggestions. I hope to make this enjoyable for everyone involved.
I really enjoy the format that Wallace at Unputdownables does when she is hosting her readalongs. Here are a few links to her readalongs: here, here and here. What do you think?
I really want to incorporate some real-time discussion; in addition to blog posts and comments, thus enters Twitter. I finally created an account @TheThingsWeRead. Real-time discussions on Twitter tentatively set for Mondays at 8:00pm EST, starting February 6th. I usually don't work Monday nights which is why I picked Mondays.
The Plan
My book has 448 pages so about 110 pages per week for 4 weeks.
Reading Schedule:
Week One: 2/5-2/11 - read pages 1-111
Week Two: 2/12-2/18 - read pages 112-218
Week Three: 2/19-2/25 - read pages 219-337
Week Four: 2/26-3/3 - read rest of the book

I just did my first twitter chat for a book chat and they used http://tweetchat.com to follow their hashtag. It is AWESOME. I recommend using that for the chats :)
I got Tweetchat started. Hopefully it works later. Thanks
